LONDON, ENGLAND (9th October 2026) – TechUK has featured Healthtech-1 as a case study in its new report, From Analogue to Digital: How the UK tech sector can deliver the 10-Year Health Plan. The report puts bookable.health forward as evidence that the NHS’s shift from analogue to digital is already happening in GP practices.

The report says the main barrier to the 10-Year Health Plan is a delivery gap, not a technology gap. It argues that much of the technology needed already exists but isn’t being adopted at scale. It cites the Plan’s own estimate that saving 90 seconds per GP appointment through admin automation would free up capacity equal to more than 2,000 full-time GPs.

Healthtech-1 is one of the report’s lead examples under Access and Flow. Its executive summary highlights one of Healthtech-1’s results: through the use of our products, GP registration times have fallen from 84 hours to under 10.

The case study notes that Healthtech-1’s products reach 1,648 GP practices, 26% of practices in England. Its Automated Registrations tool has processed 3.8 million registrations and is used by 45% of London practices. 99% of registrations are now fully automated.

The data collected at registration has also improved. In an evaluation in Surrey Heartlands ICB, ethnicity recording rose from 23.8 per cent to 96.4 per cent.

The report also features Bookable Search and Bookable Navigator:

  • Bookable Search is used by more than 20% of London practices. It shows patients live GP appointment capacity and has a patient satisfaction score of 4.4 out of 5.

  • Bookable Navigator uses AI to assess urgency and send patients to the right care within their practice. Clinicians review every booking. One triage GP told techUK that “patients have found it to be a massive upgrade to what they’ve used in the past.”

Matthew Payne, Head of Policy and Marketing at Healthtech-1, spoke on a panel at a techuk event on 8 October, sharing learnings from Healthtech-1’s experiences of creating and scaling innovations in the NHS, and what needs to change to better support this process. His message was clear: "to stimulate the market and to bring the latest technology to patient’s fingertips, the NHS needs to open up to the market - the evidence in techUK's report shows that this can be done at scale today.".

Oliver Large, Policy Lead at Healthtech-1, said: “We’re pleased techUK has recognised our work as some of the most innovative in UK health tech ecosystem. The report makes the case we hear from practices every day: the technology to shift the NHS from analogue to digital already exists. The challenge now is how it is adopted at scale. We’ll keep working with government, techUK and our NHS partners to make sure proven tools reach every practice that needs them.”
