March 19, 2025

BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND (19th March 2025) — Pete Huang is announced as a Fellow of the NHS Innovation Accelerator 2025 cohort, cementing Healthtech-1's mission to make free healthcare sustainable.

Named as one of 28 "exceptional health and social care innovators", Pete (Co-founder of Healthtech-1) begins his journey on the NHS Innovation Accelerator's three-year programme — marking its 10 year anniversary this year!

In their release today, the NHS Innovation Accelerator said: "As the NIA celebrates a decade of helping to drive innovation in the NHS, this year’s cohort aligns with the Government's three priorities: supporting the transition from analogue to digital, sickness to prevention, and hospital to community-based care."

Chaired by Professor Sir Stephen Powis and led by Mindy Simon and Jack Porter, the NHS Innovation Accelerator fosters a fantastic opportunity to develop, accelerate and deliver solutions to enhance our NHS and improve patient care and staff experience.

Speaking on stage at Digital Health's Rewired 2025 Conference in Birmingham today, Pete told the crowd: "Access to primary care is broken, and we're here to fix it".

Setting out how Healthtech-1 has registered more than 1.3 million patients and unblocked the staff burden, Pete said: "We're innovating the front door of the NHS — for patients, it now doesn't take weeks or days, but hours to get registered. And for the GP practice team, they're liberated to work on more important things."

Healthtech-1 has given 183 years of NHS staff time back to the system, is an expert at rolling out automation at scale to primary care, and is one of the fastest growing tech startups in the country.
