Alliance for Better Care: Langley Corner Surgery

The team at the Alliance for Better Care

October 30, 2025

Langley Corner Surgery is a GP practice based in Crawley, West Sussex, serving a patient population of over 12,200. As part of the Crawley Care Collaborative PCN, the practice shares a commitment to improving operational efficiency and patient experience. In early 2025, Langley Corner adopted Automated Registrations to address long-standing administrative challenges.

The challenge 🤔

Before implementation, Langley Corner relied on manual, paper-based registration processes. These were time-consuming, prone to errors, and often resulted in delays for patients waiting to be onboarded. Staff were burdened with high admin workloads, and limited data was collected from patients due to the constraints of the standard NHS registration form.

The approach 🖥️

Following a presentation at a Crawley Neighbourhood Practice Manager meeting, Langley Corner partnered with Healthtech-1. With the support of our team, the practice went live with automated registrations just two weeks after signing up.

Key features included:

  • A configurable local form to collect additional patient information

  • Automation for direct, safe and secure data entry into EMIS and SystmOne

  • Functionality to restrict previously removed patients from automatically re-registering

The solution ⭐

Automating registrations relieves administrative pressure within GP practices. The benefits of this include: increasing speed of access for patients, increasing productivity and efficiency in primary care, practices can guarantee same-day registration with all clinical coding done for them, whilst safely matching the patient to their NHS record.

The results 💙

Since launching in April 2025, Langley Corner has seen:

  • 93.6% of registrations automated ⚡

  • 235 patients successfully registered ✅

  • 55 staff hours saved ⏳

  • Significant reduction in admin burden 📉

  • Improved accuracy and speed of patient onboarding ⭐

Staff have been able to redirect their time toward more patient-facing and clinical tasks, improving overall efficiency, and the team recommends the solution to other practices looking to reduce admin workload and improve registration accuracy.

"Since implementing Healthtech-1, the surgery admin team have been able to focus on other duties without the concern of registrations building or accuracy of registrations which has saved time and effort for all involved." — Practice Manager, Langley Corner Surgery
