LONDON, ENGLAND (25th June 2025) — Healthtech-1 is highlighted by Uma Kumaran MP during the Science, Innovation, and Technology Questions in the House of Commons.
In a question to the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, Uma Kumaran MP said:
"Stratford and Bow is a thriving hub of innovation, which is why the Prime Minister chose it for the launch of the AI opportunities action plan earlier this year. One brilliant example is Healthtech-1. Once a kitchen table start-up of doctors and tech experts, it now automates admin for 22% of GP practices, and its new patient registration system has saved the NHS a staggering 183 years of time. What is the Government doing to support home-grown innovation like that to scale up its work?".
This recognition follows the Member of Parliament for Stratford and Bow's visit to Stratford Village Surgery in October 2024 to see behind the scenes at Healthtech-1 and a feature in her Newham Recorder column in January.
Co-founder, Raj Kohli, thanked Uma and said:
"It is an honour to be highlighted in Parliament by Uma. Especially because we are so proud to be based in Stratford. We can co-produce our products with a diverse population and have support from an MP who gets it - all of which helps us keep going on our mission to make free healthcare sustainable".
Healthtech-1 is the leading expert of automation at scale in primary care.
