The team at Healthtech-1
February 20, 2026
LONDON, ENGLAND (20th February 2026) — Professor Erika Denton, former National Medical Director for Transformation at NHS England, is announced as Clinical Advisor to Healthtech-1.
Erika brings more than three decades of NHS experience to the role of Clinical Advisor, including her current role as a Consultant Radiologist. She has led national transformation as Medical Director at NHS England and advised health tech organisations across the UK.
“Technology must be grounded in clinical reality and designed around patients. Healthtech-1’s work to reduce administrative burden is already making a meaningful difference for frontline teams. Their impact and genuine desire to improve the NHS for staff and patients is what drew me to want to help the team in the first place.” said Erika.
At Healthtech-1, Erika will provide strategic guidance as the company continues to deploy automation across primary care and throughout the development of new services.
She added “Over the last few months, I’ve also been allowed to peek behind the scenes. Knowing what Healthtech-1 will be releasing this year, I’m very excited to have the opportunity to help shape services that further strengthen access to care across the NHS.”
Healthtech-1 develops automation tools used by 25% of England’s GP practices. From its base inside an East London GP practice, the team of 40 works alongside administrators and clinicians to reduce administrative burden and redefine how patients access care.
“Access to care remains one of the defining challenges facing the NHS,” said Raj, Co-founder of Healthtech-1. “We’re building the technology and platforms that helps patients get to the right place, first time. Erika’s experience at the heart of national transformation will ensure our work remains grounded in clinical reality and aligned with the NHS’s long-term ambitions.”.
Healthtech-1 is on a mission to unlock access to healthcare by using technology to get patients to the right care, first time. The company was named Digital Solutions Provider of the Year at the General Practice Awards in both 2024 and 2025.
